Who We Are

12th Street is a family.  As a family, we share our lives together: our joys, our sorrows, our victories, and our defeats.  We are devoted to God’s word and do our best to live in obedience to that word as revealed in Scripture.  For example, the early church practiced the Lord’s supper every week when they met together, so we do the same.    We strive to please Him in our worship and in our service to one another and to our neighbors.  We desire to be known as a family of love: love for God, love for one another, and love for our fellow man.

What We Believe

We believe people go through a spiritual growth process when they begin their journey into a relationship with God.  In the “seeker” stage individuals attend church and study the Bible to discover God’s plan for their lives.

In the “reflection” stage, they realize the sin in their life, and their need for salvation.  When they are baptized, they encounter the blood of Christ that saves them from all of their sins. In baptism is where they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

They then enter the “commitment” stage. From this point forward, their lives are dedicated to following Christ and His example.  This is an ongoing process of growth through studying God’s word, praying, attending worship and reaching our to others to share their faith.
